What cell size should I choose — 25mm vs 45mm vs 62mm?

A.

Cell size affects the look, the stack height when raised, and the level of insulation. As a practical guide:

25mm single cell — slim and tidy, great where jamb depth is tight. In our range it’s only available with corded honeycomb blinds
45mm single cell — the popular “middle ground” for looks and performance
45mm or 62mm double cell — higher insulation and comfort, especially good for colder rooms and larger glass

Pricing notes (handy for decision-making):

25mm and 45mm single cell are the same price — so choose based on jamb depth and the look you prefer
45mm and 62mm double cell are the same price — so the choice is mainly about proportions (window size) and jamb depth

What control types are available for honeycomb blinds?

A.

You choose the main control type first:

Corded (most economical)
Cordless (same price as cordloop)
Cordloop (same price as cordless)
Motorised

Then you can add optional features (where applicable), such as Top Down Bottom Up (TDBU), Day Night, or Smart Release (Smart Release is only available on cordloop)

What if I have handles, latches, hinges, or window stays in the jamb?

A.

You’ll want “available depth”— space that’s free of anything that robs jamb depth. If jamb depth is limited the options include smaller cell size, outside mounting, or adjusting blind placement to clear obstructions

What is the maximum size for honeycomb blinds (by control type)?

A.

Do we do 3m wide honeycomb blinds? Yes (read on). To keep operation smooth and long-lasting, each control type is only offered up to sizes we’re comfortable supplying and standing behind:

Corded: max 2500mm wide × 3600mm drop
Cordless (SmartRise): max 2500mm wide × 2200mm drop
Cordloop: max 3000mm wide (3m wide) × 3600mm drop
Motorised: max 3000mm wide (3m wide) × 3600mm drop

If your window is wider than what a single blind will cover, we’d recommend two blinds side-by-side

Important (why you can’t always max both width + drop at the same time):
There are also maximum area (m²) limits. This means a blind might be within the maximum width and within the maximum drop, but still exceed the maximum total size once you multiply them together

Max area limits:

Corded: 5.5m²
Cordless (SmartRise): 5.5m²
Cordloop: 7.5m²
Motorised: 11.1m²
Motorised with Day/Night or TDBU: 5.57m²

If your measurements exceed the area limit for your chosen option, we’ll usually solve it by quoting two blinds, or by recommending a different control type/configuration that suits the size, if possible
