Replacing a broken slat (blade) in your shutters is fairly straightforward with a few basic tools. You’ll need:
A sharp Stanley knife
A Phillips screwdriver
Step-by-step:
Remove the clearview tilt-rod screw – this is the slim metal bar connecting the slats at the back of the shutter
Take out the damaged slat – you may need to carefully cut the plastic pin of the existing shutter slat with a Stanley knife
Remove the old pins – pull out the blade pins from both ends of the broken slat
Insert the new telescopic pins – these are supplied with your replacement slat. Push them in fully
Fit the new slat – slide the ends of the slat into place so the pins lock into the holes on either side of the frame, ensuring the shutter slat is the correct way round
Re-attach the clearview tilt-rod – line up the pilot hole and screw the screw back into the new slat
That’s it – your shutter is ready to go again. If you get stuck and would like a little extra help, we can arrange a quick video call to walk you through the process
