What is a Ziptrak Interior blind?
A Ziptrak Interior blind is the superior cousin to the humble blackout blind. They aren't just stylish looking – they are extremely practical and easy to use. A Ziptrak Interior blind offers full privacy, complete light control, and improved insulation. A huge step up from a basic blackout blind for those needing complete blockout and the best insulation you'll get from a roller blind. The blind is housed inside a cassette / pelmet box at the top which has a modern and streamlined look. The cassette box also blocks the light that would normally leak in and around the top of a standard blockout roller blind
The usual light leaks at the sides of a standard blind are gone too; eliminated to provide the best room darkening results you'll find. The Ziptrak Interior blind glides smoothly up and down specially designed tracks that locks the blockout fabric in on both sides. This also maximises and delivers far better insulation by reducing both heat gain and loss. As well as effortlessly sliding up and down the blind holds its place at any height you like
The Ziptrak Interior is a blackout roller blind with all the bells and whistles you'd ever want

Can Ziptrak Interior blinds be motorised?
Ziptrak Interior blinds can be motorised using battery operated rechargeable motors; which are most common if you are putting these blinds in existing homes or offices. Or if you plan to use Ziptrak Interior blinds in a new build and route power to the top of the window jambs then we could supply with hard wired motors for your electrician to connect after your blind install
Both options add cost to your blinds spend and are POA. If motorising your Ziptrak Interior blinds is a consideration choose your desired option when filling out a quote request
What fabrics can be used with the Ziptrak Interior blinds?
Most but not all of the usual blackout fabrics we offer with the blackout blinds can be used with the Ziptrak Interior blind. Some are not suitable for this method of manufacture. What size is the pelmet box at the top of a Ziptrak Interior blind?
The fully enclosed pelmet box at the top of a Ziptrak Interior blind is 75mm for blinds with a drop of 1700mm or less. For blinds over a 1700mm drop we use a 95mm pelmet box to comfortably house those larger blinds. If you have multiple Ziptrak Interior blinds at varied drops in the same room and aesthetic consistency is important to you we can use the larger 95mm pelmet box throughout. This approach does attract a $165 surcharge per blind where it would have normally used a 75mm pelmet
What colour is the pelmet box and side channels?
All the aluminium parts of the Ziptrak Interior blind are professionally powder-coated in either Black Satin or as White Satin. This is the pelmet box at the top, the side channels, and the bottom rail, and is included in your quoted price. The aluminium parts can be custom powder-coated to a colour of your choice for a surcharge of $391 for three blinds or less. For projects with four or more Ziptrak Interior blinds it is POA
What colour are the plastic parts of a Ziptrak Interior blind?
There are a few visible plastic parts making up the Ziptrak Interior blind. Mainly the pelmet box ends. You can choose Light Grey, which goes well with the White Satin pelmet box. Or Charcoal which is the obvious choice to accompany the Black Satin pelmet box. These can't be powder-coated
What are the bottom rail options?
The Ziptrak Interior blind has one bottom rail profile choice only. This is because it has to integrate with the side channels. You can however choose the bottom rail colour: Anodised silver, black, or white. If you have another colour in mind we can custom powder-coat all the aluminium parts (pelmet box, side channels, and bottom rail) to a colour of your liking. This attracts a surcharge of $391 for three blinds or less. For projects with four or more Ziptrak Interior blinds it is POA
Is the Ziptrak Interior blind suitable for DIY?
Due to the complexity of the Ziptrak Interior blind in terms of assessing suitability, measuring, and its professional installation, this is a SERVICE only product. Also only available in Auckland currently. If you are in one of the other main centres and keen for Ziptrak Interior blinds – enquire and I will discuss with my out of Auckland installers to see if we can help you toward a solution
I can't reach the top of my window!
Ziptrak Interior blinds are 'chainless'; you grab a handle on the bottom rail and raise and lower them by hand. They don't have control chains like standard roller blinds do. So Ziptrak Interior blinds are best when you can comfortably reach the top and bottom of the window space. If not don't panic as you can purchase a 600mm 'pull down pole' to operate the blind. Phew!
Please add $38 per pole and advise me by email regarding how many poles you need with your order; one pull down pole per room is sufficient. Or even better you could get them motorised and just push a button. Oh yeah
